First, we would like to welcome you in Hungary, in our admirable city called Baja.
Hungary is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Budapest is the country's capital and largest city, and the dominant cultural and economic centre.
Baja is a city with county rights in Bács-Kiskun County, southern Hungary. The city is located about 180 km south of Budapest. It is the second biggest city in the county of Bács-Kiskun.
Baja is one of the most characterful aquatic cities along the Danube in Hungary. This cosy city was built at the meeting of the Danube and its backwater, Sugovica, therefore water has always been playing a determining rule in the life of the city. Gemenc, which is near to the town, is one of the most beautiful natural sceneries in our country with its wetland forests, natural values, protected plants and animals.
Our city is known not only for its rich history and vibrant culture, but also for the genuine warmth and welcoming spirit of its residents.
About EJC
Eötvös József College is the town’s Higher Education establishment, and it plays a crucial role in the cultural, educational and scientific life of Baja. The institution was founded by Baron József Eötvös in 1870. Over the decades it has trained many hundreds of teachers to a very high standard, to work in Hungarian and National Minority Language schools. Nowadays, there is an increasing interest in our Infant- and Toddler Education BA program. It is one of Baja’s oldest and most accomplished educational institutions with a history going back over 150 years.
Eötvös József College currently offers 4 BA courses and several professional further trainings in the following academic fields:

• Pedagogical Studies
In the Education sector, Eötvös József College offers BA courses in Teacher Training and Early Years Teaching, full time or by correspondence. Both courses also offer specializations in German, Croatian or Gypsy/Roma National Minority Studies.
The main location of teaching practice for our students is the institution’s own Practice School, where we organize frequent national teaching competitions. The College has a specially developed teaching workshop where countless resources are available to help language specialists to develop their teaching strategies.
In 2002 the BA in Business and Management was introduced to provide professional development training for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises. The Institution offers Entrepreneurship and State government specializations. The College maintain strong links with the business authorities and associations (National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers, Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, National Tax and Customs Administration), national and international Enterprises.
A practical orientation is typical of our courses. Many of our lecturers are renowned for the practical value of their work, as well as for their exceptional subject knowledge.
